Britney Spears’ Ex Sam Asghari Might Be Getting a Startlingly Low Divorce Settlement Considering Her Staggering Wealth

In an industry where high-profile breakups often result in eye-watering settlements and exhausting, messy celebrity divorces, the pending divorce between pop icon Britney Spears and her soon-to-be ex-husband Sam Asghari is taking a surprisingly different trajectory. The two not only appear to be on at least somewhat amicable terms after a period of only letting their lawyers handle everything, but also seem to be settling on a relatively low payout to her soon-to-be ex-husband.

The couple, who called it quits in August 2023 just 14 months after tying the knot, shocked fans when Asghari filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” There were various alleged reasons as to why the two decided to part, including Asghari’s alleged controlling behavior and the rumor that Asghari helped out Spears’ father early on in her controversial conservatorship. The two were reportedly not on speaking terms for quite some time following the divorce, letting their legal teams handle any and all communications.

But now it seems not only are the two talking once again, but are well on their way to settling what could have become an incredibly messy divorce. Asghari is set to receive a low six-figure sum, TMZ reports, though no exact figure was given.

So why such a small settlement? After all, a lump low six-figure sum might seem like a drop in the bucket compared to Spears’ reported net worth between $60 and $70 million. It is likely in large part to the fact that Asghari and Spears signed an iron-clad prenup.

“Britney and Sam have a totally iron-clad prenup. He gets basically nothing — there are no millions, and he certainly will not profit from Britney’s book, that’s her book,” a source told Page Six, citing the fact Asghari won’t see any profits from Spears’ memoir that has already racked in $15 million.

In addition to the lump sum, it appears Spears is still footing the bill for Asghari’s $10,000-a-month luxury apartment in Los Angeles.

It seems like Spears and her savvy legal team really looked out for her best interests. They made sure her considerable wealth was protected, showing us all that not every Hollywood love story has to end with a financial nightmare. It’s a tough lesson, but sometimes, it’s the smart move to make.
