Britney Spears decries haters and 'fake' friends: 'You never know who to trust'

Britney Spears is using her Instagram account to share her commentary on life in the public eye.

Her most recent post Tuesday night features a quote from an unknown source reading, "Pay close attention to the people who don't clap when you win.

Spears accompanied the post with a cryptic caption: "Living in LA is such a trip!!! It can be lonely at times," she wrote. "You never know who to trust, and some people can be fake. I have a very small circle of friends, and simply do what makes me happy!!! It breaks my heart to see the comments on my posts sometimes .... so I simply choose not to look anymore ..."

Sam Asghari, Spears' 25-year-old boyfriend, chimed in in the comments section, writing, "Winners don’t hate or bully, losers (haters) only do because they don’t have what you have (which is the best heart in the world) ♥️"

“For those of you who don’t think I post my own videos, I did this video yesterday," she told the camera in a recent video. "So, you’re wrong. But I hope you like it.”

Spears' year of career ups-and-downs has included a cancellation of her Las Vegas residency in January, a stint at a wellness center and a recent appearance in court alongside her parents, where a judge ordered an evaluation of her conservatorship.
