Britney Spears Dives Deep Into Her Relationship With Justin Timberlake

Fans are looking at the "Everytime" music video in a totally different light after they learned that the "Hold Me Closer" singer was pregnant with Justin's baby in late 2000. Britney revealed that it "wasn't a tragedy" that she became pregnant; however, after many emotional talks, they decided that it would be best to terminate the pregnancy, especially when she said that the "Cry Me A River" singer "wasn't happy" with the pregnancy.

In an excerpt of “The Woman In Me,” released by People magazine on Tuesday, Britney opened up on her unplanned pregnancy in late 2000. “It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she wrote in her memoir. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”

“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” she continued, adding, “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”

People magazine released several excerpts from Britney's memoir on Tuesday. In another excerpt, the “Mind Your Business” singer revealed that she would drink "toddies" with her mother when she was only in the eighth grade.

“For fun, starting when I was in eighth grade, my mom and I would make the two-hour drive from Kentwood to Biloxi, Mississippi, and while we were there, we would drink daiquiris. We called our cocktails ‘toddies,’” Britney wrote in her memoir. “I loved that I was able to drink with my mom every now and then.”

“The way we drank was nothing like how my father did it,” Britney wrote. “When he drank, he grew more depressed and shut down. We became happier, more alive, and adventurous.”

In another excerpt published by People magazine, Britney said that her father frequently criticized her appearance. “If I thought getting criticized about my body in the press was bad, it hurt even more from my own father,” she wrote. “He repeatedly told me I looked fat and that I was going to have to do something about it.”

"The Woman In Me" is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
