Britney Spears and 1st Husband Jason Alexander’s Ups and Downs: From 55-Hour Marriage to Sam Asghari Wedding Crash

Britney Spears made waves in 2004 when she married Jason Alexander, a childhood friend, in Las Vegas. She sported jeans and a baseball cap for the impromptu nuptials. After just 55 hours, Spears’ team had the wedding annulled at the insistence of her family, she wrote in her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me.
“People have asked me if I loved him. To be clear: he and I were not in love,” Spears wrote. “I was just honestly very drunk —and probably, in a more general sense at that time in my life, very bored.”
Alexander, for his part, has had different memories of the events over the years.
“I went with my feelings. I was in love with her," he told ABC News in 2012. "I feel like she felt the same way."
The same year she had her quickie wedding with Alexander, Spears went on to marry Kevin Federline. After welcoming two sons — Sean Preston and Jayden James — they split in 2006 and finalized their divorce in 2007.
Sixteen years after their split, Britney married Sam Asghari. (He went on to file for divorce 13 months later.)
Alexander, for his part, attempted to crash the wedding — and was arrested for three misdemeanors: trespassing and refusing to leave the property, battery and vandalism. He was sentenced to 128 days in jail.
