Gill Catchpole, the longterm partner of British singer-songwriter James Morrison, has died, according to multiple reports.

Catchpole, with whom the “You Give Me Something” singer shares two young daughters, was found dead at her home in Whitminster, Gloucestershire on Friday after police were called “following concerns for the welfare of a resident,” the Gloucestershire Constabulary said in a statement shared with Sky News. She was 45.

Responding officers reportedly found the body of a woman in her 40s at the address, and the death is being treated as non-suspicious, according to the BBC.

A rep for Morrison had no comment when reached by PEOPLE.

Catchpole was the owner of a café called the Cotswold Sandwich Box, and in November, reflected on the one-year anniversary of a kidney transplant in a post shared to the shop’s Facebook page.

“Well, what can I say. What a difference a year makes. This time last year I was having my kidney transplant and a year on after many ups downs and heartache I am here owning my own business,” she wrote at the time. “At the start of this year I myself never saw this coming. For anyone out there struggling I can tell you from experience it does get better. Thanks to my amazing family and friends that have been there through it all and picked up the many pieces of me and my life. You all know who you are. Today I feel blessed. Xxxxxxx”

Morrison, 39, previously revealed in a 2019 interview with the Irish Mirror that one of Catchpole’s kidneys worked at only 35 percent, and that she’d nearly died while giving birth to their daughter Ada in January 2018 (The pair are also parents to daughter Elsie, 15).

“Gill almost died because her blood pressure went so low her heart nearly stopped,” he said at the time. “Gill said, ‘I’m going,’ and there were tears in her eyes. I was a mess. But after the transfusion her blood pressure went back up quickly. When we got back to the ward I let all my emotion out. Gill was my hero.”

He continued: “I’m still so in awe of how she got through it. She’s my rock. I’ve known her since I was playing open mic bars and was a van cleaner. I could never replace her.”

Morrison and Catchpole first met when the musician was 17 years old and Catchpole moved in with her then-boyfriend as a lodger in Morrison’s mother’s house.

“It wasn’t the easiest start but I still see it as a really romantic thing… The fact that we met each other the way we did, I always find it’s like a little fairytale or something,” he told the White Wine Question Time podcast in 2021.

He added that he’d often sing her songs from Stevie Wonder’s 1976 classic Songs in the Key of Life, and that the record still “reminds me of when I met her and me just serenading the corridor hoping she’d pop out.”

“Her dad is a musician and so it’s like one of those subconscious things where it’s like, ‘Oh, he sings,’ and she was like, ‘Oh, my dad loves singing.’ We had a connection straightaway really,” he said. “But I had to wait like, two years to find out if what I thought I felt was real, because… she was with her boyfriend, so I was getting to know her, and I didn’t want to tell her that I fell in love with her the first moment I set eyes on her.”

Morrison released his debut album Undiscovered in 2006, which peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. His debut single “You Give Me Something” was an Adult Top 40 hit upon its release.

The star stepped away from music after his initial success, telling The Mail on Sunday in 2015 that he was heartbroken after losing his father Paul, his older brother Alexis and his 21-year-old nephew Callum over the span of three years. He returned in 2019 with the album You’re Stronger Than You Know.
