The actress announced the news on Twitter, accompanied by a photo of herself in front of the eight scripts. It appears the first episode of the new season will be titled “Angel of Death” and the script cover includes an illustration of the Golden Gate Bridge, which more or less confirms the rumor that new episodes will be set in San Francisco. Marling says she’s “excited and terrified” by the “road map” of the new scripts.

The first season of “The OA” premiered on December 16, 2016 on Netflix, and fans have been speculating when they might get to see new episodes ever since. The science-fiction series divided critics and fans but grew a fervent cult following. Netflix recently announced its most binge-watched shows of 2017, and “The OA” was included in the Top 10.

Netflix has not announced a release date for Season 2, although December 2018 or early 2019 is looking likely since production kicks off next month.
