All hail Queen Meghan?

That seems to be the message that Beyoncé and Jay-Z were sending on Wednesday night when they accepted the award for Best International Group in a pre-taped segment in front of a framed portrait of Meghan Markle during the 2019 BRIT Awards.

The A-list couple didn't show up to the ceremony, but expressed their gratitude for the honor in a short clip that aired during the ceremony. The video starts with a zoomed-in shot of a doctored painting of Duchess Meghan posing as the Queen of England then slowly zooms out to reveal the couple.

"Thank you so much to the BRIT Awards for this incredible honor," Beyoncé said. "You guys have always been so supportive. Everything is love. Thank you."

"You're welcome," Jay-Z said with a sly smile.

The couple then turns around to stare at the portrait, which is an image that mimics a still from the couple's "APESH-T" music video that they filmed in the Louvre last year. In it, they stand in front of the Mona Lisa.

Their acceptance speech aired at the same time that the Duchess of Sussex was in New York City celebrating her upcoming royal baby with a lavish baby shower at The Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side.

Photos taken on Wednesday showed Amal Clooney, Gayle King and Abigail Spencer, among others, walking into the hotel for the party, which is being co-hosted by Clooney and Serena Williams in the hotel's $75,000-per-night penthouse suite.
