Bristol Palin fights with ex-husband after seeing a PTSD specialist

On Teen Mom OG, Bristol Palin met with a therapist who specializes in PTSD in hopes of learning how to better communicate with her ex-husband, Dakota Meyer, a former Marine and Medal of Honor recipient. Things have been getting progressively worse throughout the season, so Palin made a last-ditch effort to figure out how to successfully co-parent. Palin began the session by informing the therapist that Meyer is a combat vet who copes with anxiety and PTSD. Palin went on to describe her and Meyer’s relationship, telling how she canceled their first wedding and left him, and that after they finally did get married, he constantly thought that she was going to leave him. The therapist explained that a lot of combat vets have experienced loss and frequently deal with abandonment issues. She then gave Bristol a list of guidelines for not triggering Meyer the next time they spoke. The therapist said it’s important for Palin and Meyer to be on the same page when they’re together, saying, “…no tension, no arguing, no discussing finances. You have to stop all disparaging remarks about each other.” Unfortunately, the next time Palin and Meyer met, it didn’t take long for it to get tense, they argued most of the time, they both brought up finances, and disparaging remarks were made. In fact, it got to the point where Palin just got up and left. During the airing of the episode Monday night, Meyer posted a tweet expressing regret for comments that were made, and included a photo of he and Palin with her son, Tripp, all appearing happy.
