The Bridgewater Modern Grill, 2011 S. 1st St., is commemorating a year in business with a weekend of Halloween and harvest-themed festivities, including a prix-fixe menu, cocktail specials and screenings of family-friendly Halloween movies on their 245-foot riverside patio.

The event, called “Riverfront Frights and Fun," will take place Oct. 20-22.

Throughout the weekend, The Bridgewater will transform its patio with spooky decor. Continuing the Halloween theme, the restaurant will serve a series of spooky cocktail specials, including the Bloody Sour, featuring Elijah Craig Small Batch bourbon; Midnight Black Berry Smash, featuring Jack Daniels whiskey; and Harvest Cider, featuring Limousin Rye whiskey.

Guests could enjoy their cocktails outdoors by the warmth of The Bridgewater’s outdoor fire tables while watching family-friendly Halloween movies, which will be screened on the patio beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the community back to celebrate with us and enjoy the sounds, sites and tastes of fall and Halloween,” General Manager Rik Acken said in a news release. “There’s no better way to celebrate the season than with a specialty cocktail, fire pit and movie on the longest riverfront patio in the area.”

The Bridgewater will also offer a three-course, prix-frixe dinner menu Friday through Sunday. The options include a first course of Caesar salad or potato leek soup, main course of cabernet-braised short rib with grilled mushroom and potato puree or shrimp and yellow corn grits with tasso ham creole sauce, and desserts of pumpkin cheesecake with toasted pumpkin-seed crumb or flourless chocolate cake with toasted hazelnuts and whipped cream. The three-course menus will be available for $61 for the short rib entree and $56 for shrimp.

The Bridgewater will also host live music from Ben Dameron’s Gypsy Jazz Trio during brunch service on Saturday and Sunday.

The Bridgewater Modern Grill opened on Oct. 25, 2022, serving brunch and dinner seven days a week. It’s home to Milwaukee’s longest riverfront patio, with 80 seats outside, plus a spacious 165-seat interior dining space. It specializes in wood-fired American fare, custom cocktails and craft beers.
