After the first part of Bridgerton Season 3 dropped today on May 16, the cliffhanger ending of Episode 4 left fans feeling a mixed bag of emotions. As per an earlier announcement, Season 3 will come out in two parts, with the second part being released on June 13. Intriguingly, by the close of the fourth episode, Penelope Featherington’s search for a husband seems to have narrowed down to just one potential suitor… or perhaps two? Who does Penelope marry then? Who does Penelope marry at the end of Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 4?

Penelope and Colin seem to be engaged at the end of Part 1 of the latest season. However, it is not certain whom she will end up marrying after this.

In Episode 4, everything seems to fall into place for Penelope when Lord Debling takes interest in her. However, during the ball when they share a dance together, she questions him about whether love will eventually grow between them.

With Lord Debling’s answer, Penelope realizes that she may be making a mistake. At the same time, Colin realizes his love for her and interrupts their dance. After a small but heated conversation with him, Lord Debling confronts Penelope about Colin and her, which results in him walking off and her leaving the venue in her carriage. Colin notices her leaving and goes after her carriage, stopping it and getting in.

In this very crucial scene for the plot, we see Colin and Penelope’s very tense conversation smoothly transitioning into a steamy kiss. The carriage comes to a halt at the Bridgerton house, where a confident Colin pops the question to a nervous Penelope, “For God’s sake Penelope Featherington. Are you going to marry me or not?”

In the teaser for the second part of Season 3, Penelope is engaged to Colin. However, the only obstacle in their path is the true identity of Lady Whistledown, the secret columnist and queen of gossip, who is actually Penelope. It has left some fans wondering how Colin will react to the truth, or if he will ever find out.

Does Penelope marry Colin in the book?

In the book Romancing Mister Bridgerton, Colin does end up marrying Penelope after dealing with the fact that she is Lady Whistledown. The Netflix adaptation does have a few differences from the storyline of the books. However, for Season 3, there appears to be quite a lot of difference between them.

Season 3 Part 2 will arrive on June 13. This will further reveal what goes down after Colin proposes to Penelope.
