Bridesmaids creators' new rom-com Barb and Star gets February 12 UK release

Bridesmaids creators Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo's new rom-com collaboration finally has a UK release date and it's set to arrive just in time to be your Valentine's Day movie of choice.
Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, which is written by and stars Wonder Woman 1984 actress Wiig and Bad Moms star Mumolo as the titular best friends, will be released in the UK on February 12 and will be available "everywhere you rent movies", so it won't be exclusive to a particular streaming service.
Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar sees lifelong besties Barb (Mumolo) and Star (Wiig) make the big decision to leave their small Midwestern town for the very first time and take a vacation to Florida's Vista Del Mar.

But once they arrive, the pair end up being caught up in "adventure, love, and a villain's evil plot to kill everyone in town".
The UK release date news is accompanied by the latest trailer for the movie (which you can watch above), giving us a closer look at what Barb and Star get up to on their break. The clip begins by giving us mysterious Stranger Things-style vibes with some odd flashing lights, only for Barb to break the tension by revealing that she is just "playing with this lamp".
The pair then decide to take a break from hosting talking club meetings accompanied by hot dog soup by jetting off to Vista Del Mar, where they enjoy having caricatures drawn, buying new phone cases and chatting up a mystery man played by Fifty Shades of Grey's Jamie Dornan.
Barb and Star are also apparently very good at saying "hi" in unison.

The movie also stars Let's Be Cops actor Damon Wayans Jr, American Crime Story's Kwame Patterson, Saturday Night Live's Vanessa Bayer and The Office US star Phyllis Smith.
New Girl and Fresh Off The Boat director Josh Greenbaum directs, while Will Ferrell is among the movie's producers.
Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar will be released "everywhere you rent movies" on February 12 in the UK. It will also be available to stream via PVOD services in the US on February 12.
