Caitlin McInnis took her wedding day glam to a whole new level!

The 30-year-old bride from Illinois, who tied the knot in September, shocked her new husband by undergoing a dramatic hair transformation — in the middle of their wedding reception.

A video that has since gone viral on TikTok captured the moment when McInnis' hairstylist sister, Courtnie Saraceno, chopped the bride's long brunette locks into a lob style that just grazed her shoulders. McInnis stood calmly as her sister worked her magic, even as the cut hair covered her pristine white lace-embellished wedding dress.

Once the cut was finished, the camera panned to the floor to show a large pile of hair before revealing McInnis' surprised reaction to just how much had been cut off. The sisters then posed together, with McInnis now wearing a different white dress with sheer sleeves as she showed off her chic new hairstyle.

"A little outfit change and a big wedding CHOP courtesy of @Courtnie Saraceno," McInnis wrote in the video's caption, adding the hashtags #weddinghaircut and #hairtransformations.

McInnis told Newsweek that when she returned to her reception, her husband was thrown for a loop by her changed appearance. "My husband, Tyler, was very confused. He honestly noticed the dress change first but, after a second of everyone yelling at him, he was surprised!" she recalled, noting that he questioned her timing.

"Tyler didn't understand why I didn't cut my hair before the wedding, why I waited. I like to be dramatic sometimes, and Courtnie helped me pull that off!" she added.

TikTok users had a lot to say in the comments section of the video, with quite a few expressing their disappointment that the clip ended without showing the reaction of the groom and all the wedding guests. Others noted the symbolism of McInnis embracing a new look as she stepped into a new chapter in life as a married woman.

"So gorgeous. I love this for the deeper cut of the past to welcome in the new future," one wrote, while another commented, "This is such a beautiful way to start your new life as ONE."

Saraceno also shared the hair transformation video on her own TikTok page with the caption, "Watch me chop my sister's hair off in the middle of her reception."

In text over the video, the Chicago-based stylist explained how she executed the speedy cut. "I used clippers first to get the bulk of length off for timing purposes," she wrote. "[McInnis] told me off the bat she wanted it above her shoulders."

Saraceno admitted to being a bit apprehensive about the undertaking. "I was too scared to go that short at first so I was doing baby chops," she continued.

After using the clippers, Saraceno switched to shears to fine tune the cut. "We did this super quick to ensure she wasn't missing out on her wedding," she noted.

In an Instagram post which also featured the video, Saraceno anticipated some of the questions she would inevitably get asked by her followers and further clarified how the haircut went down.

After sharing that the cut wasn't spontaneous and had actually been planned for months, she reiterated that she worked quickly so that McInnis wouldn't be absent from her own wedding celebration for long. She also addressed why she didn't put a cape over her sister's bridal gown to protect it.

"It’s so much cooler and more dramatic to cut it in her wedding dress," she said. "Before changing into her other dress, we lint rolled her chest and back to make sure she wasn’t itchy."

McInnis confirmed that she was happy with the results in a comment she left on her sister's post, writing, "Lol the FAQs. I was NOT itchy at all and LOVE my new haircut 🥰."
