Bride Goes Viral After Getting 'Yeehaw' Tattoos With Bridesmaids Ahead of Wedding (Exclusive)

Taylor Downs shared the moment she revealed her tattoo to her husband on TikTok

On the last day of her bachelorette trip in Nashville, Tenn., Taylor Downs remembers joking with her 10 bridesmaids about how funny it would be if they got lip tattoos. However, the 28-year-old didn't think her friends would actually say yes – until they did.

"I was very, very surprised that they all said they would be down to do it," Taylor tells PEOPLE. "Right before everyone flew home from the airport we went to a tattoo place by our Airbnb. I was thinking of Nashville-related tattoos and I thought of the word 'yeehaw.'"

Taylor added that all of her friends got the same tattoo, but two of them opted to get "yeehaw" on a different body part than their lips.

"One of them got it on her butt," she shares. "Then I had another friend that got it on her foot. But everyone got the tattoo."

While Taylor doesn't have a picture of her and all of her bridesmaids showing off their matching tattoos, she did capture the moment on camera with one of her sisters, Kyla Moore. She also posted a video on TikTok of the moment she and her friends got their tattoos done.

At the time of her bachelorette party in May 2022, Taylor and her bridesmaids decided they weren't going to tell anyone what they planned to do, including her now-husband Jacob Downs, 24, whom she married in June 2022.

Instead, when she got home from the trip, she says she planned to surprise Jacob and take a video of his reaction.

"I was really nervous to tell him," Taylor says. "Not as much for him having a bad reaction, but because I was really excited to tell him. I'm really bad at keeping secrets so it was really hard for me not to tell him."

On Tuesday, over a year later, Taylor posted the video of Jacob's reaction to his wife's lip tattoo reveal on her TikTok. In the video, which now has over 4.2 million views, Taylor and Jacob are sitting in a car when she pretends that she bit her lip. She asks Jacob to see if it's bleeding. That's when she surprises him with the tattoo.

When Jacob sees what's on the inside of Taylor's mouth his jaw drops. "You did not," he says to her laughing.

"His reaction is honestly what made the video," Taylor says. "It was really sweet how supportive he was of me and my girlfriends doing something on my bachelorette party trip that he didn't necessarily know that I was going to do."

Taylor also explains that her lip tattoo wasn't the first tattoo she's gotten. She also has tattoos on her wrist, foot and ribs.

"I didn't think he would like it as much as he did. But I didn't think he would be upset by any means," she says.

"I think it's really obvious in the video that more than anything Jacob and I are best friends and we have a great time together."
