Are you ready for Thanksgiving Eve?

The big night in clubs and on dance floors, sometimes called Black Wednesday or Drinksgiving, is also almost upon us. It's been gaining momentum since the COVID-19 outbreak took the wind out if its sails for a few years. There are plenty of options to enjoy the a night out.

Brian Kirk and the Jirks are playing the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Thanksgiving Eve for the fourth time.

“The audience can expect the usual high energy meat and potatoes rock 'n' roll show that they have come to expect from us,” said Kirk via text. “Served with a side order of fun and stuffing in the form of my bad dad jokes.

“With additional entrees of Jarod Clemons, Cole Hallman and Gabby Cinque,” Kirk added.

Kirk and the Jirks bring the tunes to their shows.

If you plan to drink, be sure to have a designated driver, or call a rideshare or taxi.

Eddie and the Cruisers tribute

Hey Eddie, where ya been?

“Eddie and the Cruisers,” the cult classic about a fictional bar band from the Jersey Shore that sounded a lot like Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, was released to movie theaters in September of 1983.

This Thanksgiving Eve, Jobonanno and the Godsons will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the “Eddie and the Cruisers” soundtrack with a show at Tim McLoone's Supper Club on the boardwalk in Asbury Park.

As fans of Jersey Shore music will know, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band from Rhode Island performed on the soundtrack, which produced the hits “On the Dark Side” and “Tender Years.”

Jobonanno and the Godsons will also play R&B dance hits of yore, and the floor will be open so everyone can get on down.
