Brian Jordan Alvarez's TJ Mack celebrates M3GAN for EW's 2023 Entertainers of the Year: 'Please welcome her'

The actor behind viral hit song "Sitting" channels one of his many social media characters to honor his "M3GAN" costar.

An iconic outfit. A viral dance sensation. A "Titanium" cover to die for. This strong, independent woman was a no-brainer to make EW's list of Entertainers of the Year — except she's not a woman, she's a robot. Well, a fictional robot.

The year had barely started when director Gerard Johnstone's latest horror flick introduced us to a Model 3 Generative Android, known as M3GAN for short — and from the very first trailer we were obsessed. In M3GAN, roboticist Gemma (Allison Williams) deploys her AI creation to comfort her niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), after the child's parents are killed in a car accident. Things start out great, with the robot and gradeschooler forming a quick, tight bond. But then all the killing starts, with M3GAN taking out some of Gemma's coworkers; a young boy; a neighbor; and Dewey, the neighbor's dog.

That's right, we put a dog killer on our list of 2023 Entertainers of the Year. To honor the magnetic robot (get it, she's made of metal), we sought out her M3GAN costar Brian Jordan Alvarez, a Will & Grace revival alum who has amassed an impressive social media following with his growing cast of characters that speak directly to camera and his viral song "Sitting." In the video above, the actor — who created and stars in FX's upcoming comedy English Teacher — channels his popular character TJ Mack to homage the beloved M3GAN. Read the transcription below.
