Brian Austin Green Reveals His No. 1 Rule for Co-Parenting His Three Kids with Ex Megan Fox

Brian Austin Green is opening up about co-parenting.

This week, the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor, 50, shared with E! News his top tip for successfully parenting his three sons – Noah Shannon, 11, Bodhi Ransom, 10, and Journey River, 7 – who he shares with ex Megan Fox. Green is also a dad to son Kassius Lijah, 21, with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil and Zane Walker, with his fiancée, Sharna Burgess.

"The number one [tip] is always make sure that everything is centered around the experience of the kids," Green told the outlet of parenting with Fox at Steel City Comic Con on Saturday, April 13.

"People make a mistake of thinking that they're gonna do things so the separation doesn't affect the kids, and that's—of course, it's gonna affect the kids," he added. "The only choice you have is how it affects the kids."

During the interview, Green also emphasized the importance of "picking your battles" as a parent.

"The person that you were with that you're now separated from, you guys are separated for a reason, because you didn't get along," he explained. "So, you can't expect to then get along after the fact in raising your kids. So, you have to decide, ‘OK, it's not about us getting along anymore. It's about us co-parenting, which is a totally different situation.'"

Since separating from Fox, Green has been consistently open about his co-parenting relationship with the actress.

In October 2022, he reiterated their positive dynamic, describing their approach to E! News as going "really well." During the interview, he emphasized that they "don't fight over time with the kids" and "try to alternate holidays between Christmas Day and Christmas Eve."

"I'm very aware—and so is she—that our schedules are insane. So when we do get time, we cherish it. It's an amazing thing, and we support the other parent having time," he added.
