A new brewpub is coming to Austin next summer thanks to some established local players.

The establishment, called Old Gregg, will come from Matt Luckie and Max Moreland of West Fifth Street bar Mean Eyed Cat, according to Austin Business Journal.

The brewpub is also a part of a larger business site, the journal reported.

Here's everything you need to know:

Where will Old Gregg be located?

The brewpub is set to open at 1900 E. Howard Lane in Pflugerville, according to Austin Business Journal. The establishment will be part of "a mixed-use business park where developer Topo is both upgrading existing structures and constructing new buildings."

Topo began work on the park this past July, and three new buildings totaling 35,000 square feet will spring up. That includes the building for Old Gregg. These buildings will house not only restaurants like Old Gregg but "retail and industrial tenants," the journal reported.

Who else is part of this Old Gregg endeavor?

Alongside Luckie and Moreland — who are the Mean Eyed Cat's owner and operating partner, respectively — are brewmasters Matt Couch and Kirby Kirkconnell. Couch and Kirkconnell are the founders of Solon Consulting LLC., which aims to help brewers and beverage manufacturers.

Before Solon's founding in 2020, Couch worked as a brewmaster for Lazarus Brewing Company in Austin, according to his LinkedIn. Kirkconnell is a former principal consultant for Craftpro Beverage and head brewer for Oasis Texas Brewing Co., his LinkedIn states.

What else have Luckie and Moreland done in the area?

Luckie and Moreland are also the duo behind Sign Bar, Star Bar, Lavaca Street Bar and Dive Bar.
