A Melbourne dome home that sold at the end of April for $500,000 was featured on the popular Instagram account Zillow Gone Wild.

The social media site gives people a look inside odd and unique homes all over the world. There’s an Arizona home that looks like a medieval castle, a super skinny Jacksonville home and a Texas ranch home complete with lazy river in the backyard.

Now Zillow Gone Wild is expanding its reach past social media. A TV show based on the Instagram account premiers Friday on the network HGTV.

Actor Jack McBrayer, known for his role on the NBC show 30 Rock, will host Zillow Gone Wild. He’ll be the tour guide through those wacky, weird properties that hit the market every day.

“Everyone loves to scroll endlessly, looking at all the pretty houses for sale online,” McBrayer said in a press release. “But I’m on a mission to find out the story behind America’s strangest and most extraordinary homes. I want to meet the owners and, most importantly, see for myself what’s inside.”

Featured homes include a renovated missile silo, a fairy tale cottage and a house "fit for a king."

The show airs Fridays beginning May 3 through June 28 at 10:30 pm on HGTV.

Will the Brevard dome home be featured on the TV show Zillow Gone Wild?

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing the Melbourne dome home on the new tv show.

However, officials with HGTV said a Florida home will be featured. All we know about the house is it’s located in Destin. You’ll have to tune in June 21 to find out what quirky features the home has.

While Brevard's dome home won't be on the series, Episode 5 does include an "earth-dome compound in the desert."

What happened to the Melbourne dome home?

The Melbourne dome home belonged to the owners of the Rockledge-based American Ingenuity, aka Aidomes. The company, which closed its doors in 2018, manufactured and sold the gray, concrete dome homes.

There are about 50 located throughout Brevard and about 200 in Florida.

The one featured on Zillow Gone Wild also was on the cover of Popular Science Magazine back in 1987. The three-bedroom, three-bath, 1,907-square-foot house in Melbourne sold for the asking price of $500,000.

Made of concrete and steel as well as hurricane impact windows, the house is built to withstand Category 5 hurricanes. The design also is energy efficient, which cuts down on bills.
