Talk about a statement.
Apple TV+Prince Harry’s son, Archie, is featured in the trailer for his new documentary with Oprah Winfrey. While it must be said at the outset that Archie is utterly adorable, the move to include Archie in the film could trigger a new round of criticism over the Sussexes’ perceived double standards when it comes to their privacy. The trailer for Harry’s new show, which is called The Me You Can’t See, was released Monday morning.Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Should Drop Their Titles, Royal Sources SayThe show itself, which is described as a multipart documentary, will hit screens via Apple TV+ on Friday. The dropping of the official trailer was announced on Harry and Meghan’s website, Archewell, which said it “offers a glimpse into the diverse stories of mental health and emotional well-being that will be highlighted in the new documentary series.”The show will see Harry and Oprah “join forces to guide honest discussions about mental health and emotional well-being while opening up about their personal journeys and struggles,” the website said.It added that the docuseries would feature “high-profile guests and everyday people—including singer, songwriter, and actress Lady Gaga, Syrian refugee Fawzi, DeMar DeRozan of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, author and counselor Ambar, and many others—sharing their stories of living with the challenges of mental health issues and addressing their emotional well-being.”The trailer at one stage shows a tearful Oprah saying: “It’s just something I accepted.” Oprah has previously opened up about how she was raped as a child. There is a clear suggestion that Harry will talk in detail about his own traumatic childhood: In one clip he is shown looking emotional at the camera before it cuts to footage of him at the funeral of his mother, Princess Diana. There will likely be some trepidation at Buckingham Palace that Harry will use the film to renew his criticisms of his father, Prince Charles.Last week, speaking about Charles, he told a podcast: “He’s treating me the way that he was treated.” He also said: “There’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway. As parents we should be doing the most we can to try and say, ‘You know what, that happened to me, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.’”It seems unlikely the new series will lead to any royal reconciliation. In another clip, Harry appears to be on a video call when he is joined by wife Meghan, who is wearing a T-shirt with the words “Raising The Future” emblazoned on it. (The shirt is by Mère Soeur, a “U.K. lifestyle brand that empowers women and celebrates sisterhood.”)Suggesting that the impact of the pandemic will be a key thread in the show, Harry is seen saying, “The results of this year will be felt for decades, for kids, families, husbands, wives…”The trailer then cuts to footage of Archie on Meghan’s knee. Archie is wearing a white baby suit, and Meghan is holding a large rectangular object which looks like a kid-proofed tablet (or perhaps a baby mirror). The inclusion of Archie in the trailer, and presumably the series itself, is likely to spark criticism of the couple for double standards when it comes to their family privacy, in much the same way that Archie’s appearance in a podcast they made for Spotify last year did.On that occasion, Archie was heard wishing listeners, “Happy New Year.”Read more at The Daily Beast.Got a tip? Honestly, it's a little bit confusing.
Discovery Channel is entering the dating game with series orders for three shows that blend romance with nature, entertainment and adventure, including “Naked and Afraid of Love,” “Mating Season” and “Mountain Love,” TheWrap has learned exclusively. The trio of series will be available across Discovery, Inc. platforms later this year. Here’s the official description for “Naked and Afraid of Love”: Today, dating has become filtered – through the clothes we wear, jobs we have, and lives we share on social media. But what if it was all stripped away — the filters, dating apps and curated personas — leaving room for only our most primal wants and needs, and exposing who we really are in the process? Would we forge stronger connections? Discovery seeks to answer these questions and more in “Naked and Afraid of Love,” a groundbreaking take on modern dating that is the ultimate blend of survival and romance unlike anything viewers have seen. By stripping it all away — beginning with the clothes — “Naked and Afraid of Love” sets out to uncover what happens when 16 complete strangers — 8 single women and 8 single men — attempt to find true love while working together to survive the elements and each other on an unforgettable island paradise. And “Mating Season,” which is a working title: Bringing together the fun of relationship competition shows with the mating rituals of the Animal Kingdom, “Mating Season” (wt) spotlights what happens when humans look to the natural world for help in the love department. Animals have courtship down to a science with tried and true techniques for finding a mate that are [sic] far removed from any of the distractions or complications of modern human dating. “Mating Season” (wt) asks the question: Can mating like animals help find love as humans? In the all-new Discovery series, eligible women and men will leave behind their human habits and attempt to find true love, animal style. With truly animalistic challenges, such as limited speaking opportunities and choreographing the perfect mating ritual to win over their potential mates, “Mating Season” brings out the animal within to unleash our natural instincts in the pursuit of true love. And “Mountain Love”: Finally, what happens when long-distance couples have found their soulmates at long last, but come to find they live completely different lives? In an all-new series from the producers of “90 Day Fiancé,” “Mountain Love,” five people from cities and suburbs decide to move-in with their long-distance partners who live way, way off-grid in some of the most remote corners of the country. Will their relationships survive this real-world experiment as they take the ultimate plunge to leave civilization — and indoor plumbing — behind? With a wide range of unique stories, from an off-the-grid couple looking to become a “throuple” with the addition of a sister-wife, to a mountain mama who’s convinced her younger, city-loving man to join her in the remote ranch in Arizona, these complex relationships will need to endure more than just the elements — they’ll need to survive each other in the process. “We’ve documented people all over the world doing the most extreme things – whether it’s risking their lives out at sea, street racing or traveling to space – but nothing better illustrates what it truly means to be human than our quest for love,” Nancy Daniels, chief brand officer of Discovery & Factual, tells TheWrap. “We are combining core elements of the Discovery brand with the complexities of finding love and companionship, and the results will both thrill and tug at the heartstrings.” “Naked and Afraid of Love” is produced for Discovery by Renegade 83, an Entertainment One (eOne) company, with David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe and Jay Bienstock as executive producers. For Discovery, Michael Gara is executive producer and Paola Espinosa is associate producer. “Mating Season” hails from Boat Rocker Studios through Matador Content on behalf of Discovery. For Matador, Todd Lubin, Jay Peterson, and Sam Brown are executive producers. For Discovery, Gretchen Morning is executive producer and Greg Wolf is producer. “Mountain Love” is produced by Sharp Entertainment for Discovery. For Sharp Entertainment, Matt Sharp, Dan Adler, and Doug Fitch are executive producers. For Discovery, Erin Wanner and Keith Hoffman are executive producers, and Sarah Russell is supervising producer. Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17th and it could easily become the most successful box office hit of the pandemic, especially now that many regions around the world is preparing for a return to some sense of normalcy. Spider-Man movies are usually highly anticipated attractions, especially the episodes that are tied to the bigger MCU storyline. No Way Home happens to be one such story, and it has the best premise possible for a Spider-Man film: for the first time ever, people know that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. What’s worse, he’s being framed and could be considered a fugitive on the run by many people after the events in Far From Home. That plotline alone is enough to turn Spider-Man 3 into a must-see movie, a story that Sony was never able to tell before. But it gets even better than that if a certain Spider-Man 3 leak is accurate. Spider-Man 3 has a huge surprise for fans that’s guaranteed to have everyone talking about the film once it comes out. The problem with this surprise, which Sony and Marvel are desperately trying to hide, is that the mystery has already been spoiled. Most people know the biggest No Way Home spoiler by now. And a new leak further indicates that No Way Home will indeed be Sony’s first live-action Spiderverse story and a massive multiverse-related adventure for Marvel. Spoilers follow below, but they're probably spoilers that you've already seen multiple times by now if you're a Marvel movie fan. Spider-Man 3 will not bring back just Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will also reprise their roles from Sony’s previous movies. We’ve seen various leaks on social media indicating that the two actors are involved in the project. Holland tried to deny having met the two other Spider-Men stars, and Garfield denied being in the movie before backtracking a few days after that. It’s not just the Spider-Men from Spider-Man movies of the past who are returning. The villains they fought in Sony’s previous films are also going to be back. Alfred Molina is the best example of that. The actor will reprise his Doc Ock role from Sam Raimi’s films, and Molina confirmed everything a few weeks ago. He explained at the time that he’s "the worst kept secret in Hollywood." He also told us exactly how it would be possible to see the same villain in a new Spider-Man film — it’s the multiverse, of course. And you don’t bring back Molina's villain without having Maguire's hero appear in the movie as well. YouTube channel Everything Always details another leak that reinforces the idea that No Way Home is a multiverse story. An eager No Way Home cast member posted her involvement in No Way Home on IMDB earlier than she was supposed to, revealing that her role was “personal costumer: Ms. Dunst.” https://twitter.com/MaguireDunst/status/1392500381880668160 That listing was promptly removed from the film’s IMDB’s page, but the internet never forgets. We’ve seen leaks like this happen with other movies before. And while anybody with access to the page could have edited it to add this particular tidbit to mess with fans, having Dunst in Spider-Man 3 makes plenty of sense. After all, the actress starred in Sam Raimi’s trilogy alongside Maguire. If accurate, the leak also obviously implies that Maguire is in the film, just like other leaks have said. You don’t just bring back Molina and Dunst without also getting Maguire for No Way Home. If this type of leak sounds familiar, that’s because we saw something similar back in late 2018 and early 2019, ahead of the Avengers: Endgame. We kept seeing leak after leak revealing that most of the dead Avengers would be resurrected in Endgame. Separately, fan theories speculated that some of the Avengers might die for good during the second battle with Thanos. It all turned out to be accurate, but these tidbits did not ruin the Endgame experience one bit. We had no idea how it would all happen, and Marvel did a spectacular job of telling that story. Knowing that Maguire and Garfield will be Spider-Men again alongside Tom Holland in No Way Home is a perfectly acceptable spoiler. We still have no idea how we'll get there or what will happen once the three heroes meet. Time will tell whether Sony and Marvel will want to acknowledge any of it in future No Way Home trailers, or leave the reveals for the actual film. The Everything Always clip discussing the IMDB leak follows below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYEq_1gLVZM
Josh Flagg loves showing off real estate — including his own. The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agent has shared several glimpses of his Beverly Hills estate, which includes a pool deck that's perfect for entertaining. The agent had his lavish Thanksgiving dinner by the pool in 2020, and hosted an elegant dinner party for his colleagues in the same setting. But when houseguest Sonja Morgan descended on Beverly Hills, the twosome had an intimate pool party that was just a bit quirkier than the previous gatherings. In an Instagram post, Josh shared a video that captured himself prancing merrily around his backyard with The Real Housewives of New York City cast member. As music from Disneyland played, the two Bravolebrities made their way through Josh's yard with flutes of champagne in hand. If you can peel your eyes away from Josh and Sonja's spirited choreography, you'll notice that the video offers a full tour of the peaceful Beverly Hills yard. There are cushy white lounge chairs under umbrellas, blue-and-white vases dotting the pool's edge, and a chic, black-and-white pool house. The Black Widow actress accepted the Generation Award celebrating her contributions in film
When shooting wrapped on The Woman in the Window in October 2018, cast and crew celebrated the completion of a sure-fire hit. The film was firmly in the commercially successful psychological thriller genre, but featured the sort of heavyweight talent that might impress the critics and even garner an Oscar nod or two. The director was Joe Wright, whose previous film, the Churchill biopic Darkest Hour, was showered with praise. The star was Amy Adams, a much-loved actress and six-times unsuccessful Oscar nominee whom the sentimental old Academy are panting to give her due. The lip-smacking supporting cast included Julianne Moore (the fabricated neighbour, Jane, who Anna thinks has been murdered), Jennifer Jason Leigh (who claims to be the real Jane), and Gary Oldman (Jane's husband). Since then, however, the film has been beset by a succession of disasters. Poor reception by test audiences, delays induced by studio politics and the pandemic, accusations of plagiarism and bizarre scandals concerning some of the people involved with the movie have led some commentators to brand The Woman in the Window with the dreaded label “cursed”. Once expected to pack out cinemas, the film has now landed instead on Netflix - a full two and a half years after the initial shoot was completed. The high hopes of 2018 have not been reflected in the muted way the film has been promoted, with no advance screenings for critics and little of the hoopla that usually accompanies such a star-laden project. The reviews have largely been lukewarm. But that was perhaps the inevitable outcome for a film clearly born under an unlucky star.
"This is one of those unfortunate decisions that had to be made and we move on," Lionel Richie told PEOPLE after Sunday's semi-final episode
Crystal Kung Minkoff and her husband, Rob Minkoff, created their dream home from the ground up. "Rob and I actually built this home ourselves," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer shared in the exclusive Bravo Insider video above. "It was a total labor of love." When designing the house, Crystal and Rob put special thought into every single detail. "The house is about 9,000 square feet. The number 8 is really important to Chinese culture and I said, 'Let's try to get a house 8,888 square feet," Crystal said. "We were close, so I'm just going to stick with that number." Although she considers the elegant formal living room the "heart of the home," Crystal and her family spend "99 percent of the time" in their gorgeous kitchen. "I love to cook. I love to entertain," she explained. "All of my friends always come into this room." The exterior is also jaw-dropping. In addition to a backyard area featuring a beautiful pool, there is the "other outdoor space," which Crystal called the "fire pit area," as well as a separate "kids' yard." To see a full tour of Crystal's incredible house, including the "cozy" library, chic bedroom, and luxe bathroom, check out the video above! 2021 was already shaping up to be an exciting year for Beatles fans, with director Peter Jackson's long-awaited Get Back documentary hitting theaters in August after having been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic (side note, I got the chance to interview Beatles drummer Ringo Starr recently, and he is effusive in his praise of this documentary that basically re-writes the story of the band's final days). There also have been a number of announcements already this year for fans of one of the two surviving members of The Beatles, Paul McCartney, such as the release of a 50th anniversary edition of McCartney's solo album Ram, released this month back in 1971 -- a year, by the way, that a forthcoming Apple TV+ docu-series explores in the series 1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything. Meantime, other McCartney-related announcements this year have included the British Royal Mail honoring McCartney's solo career with an official 12-stamp collection. And now Hulu is joining the fray, via the announcement of a joint project between McCartney and producer Rick Rubin that fans of the former Beatle had already heard rumors about last year, roughly in tandem with the lead-up to the release of McCartney's latest solo album, McCartney III. And now Hulu is making it official. Hulu on Monday announced that McCartney 3,2,1, a 6-episode documentary series from Endeavor Content, will premiere Friday, July 16, on the streaming service. From Hulu's announcement: The series "features intimate and revealing examinations of musical history from two living legends, Paul McCartney and super producer Rick Rubin ... In the series, Paul McCartney sits down for a rare in-depth one-on-one with legendary music producer Rick Rubin to discuss his groundbreaking work with The Beatles, the emblematic 1970s arena rock of Wings and his 50-plus years as a solo artist. In this six-episode series that explores music and creativity in a unique and revelatory manner, the documentary gives a front-row seat to Paul and Rick in an intimate conversation about the songwriting, influences, and personal relationships that informed the iconic songs that have served as the soundtracks of our lives." https://twitter.com/BeatlesEarth/status/1339326573393154054 McCartney 3,2,1 is the latest in a growing string of Hulu original documentary films and series that examine significant periods and figures in history, including Hillary, I Am Greta, and another Beatles-themed documentary available to stream on the service -- The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years. The new McCartney documentary is directed by Emmy Award-winning Zachary Heinzerling and executive produced by McCartney, Rubin, Scott Rodger, Peter Berg, Matthew Goldberg, Brandon Carroll, Jeff Pollack, Frank Marshall, and Ryan Suffern, with Leila Mattimore serving as co-executive producer. Endeavor Content serves as the studio, producing alongside MPL Communications Inc., Shangri-La, Film 45, Kennedy Marshall, and Diamond Docs. All six episodes of the docu-series will be available to stream starting on July 16 on Hulu.
