Bree Runway’s 2024 is off to a hell of a start. On Tuesday, the singer shared her excited reaction after finding out that Christina Aguilera laced her Vegas residency performance with her song “That Girl” over the weekend.

“CHRISTINA AGUILERA GIRLLLL HUHHH???!!” Runway tweeted, before sharing a video of Aguilera’s performance of “Glam,” which featured elements of her own music. “LIKEEE?!?! That’s realllly one of my icons !!!”

“THAT GIRLLLL!!!!! IN YOUR SET?!?! get me on a flight to vegas NOWWWWW!!!!!!” Runway added. “I almost FELL when I heard my voice omg.”

Aguilera later quote-tweeted Rolling Stone‘s post about Runway’s series of tweets, writing “Come to Vegas anytime 💋 @breerunway.”

The performance of “Glam” — which also interluded Cobrah’s “Brand New Bitch” — was also special for many Aguilera fans, as it served as her live debut of the Bionic favorite.

Aguilera debuted her new Vegas residency at the Venetian’s Voltaire Belle de Nuit over the weekend, featuring several Vegas covers, songs from Burlesque, and three tracks from her underrated album, Bionic. “I look forward to bringing Las Vegas a new show that fuses music, sophistication, and art in ways I have never performed before,” Aguilera previously said of the residency.

Runway will have several opportunities to catch Aguilera’s Vegas show this year as she’ll have performances on Jan. 5 and 6, four shows in February, and two more shows in March.

The “ATM” singer also seemed to tease new music this year after a fan said that “2024 is off to a great start.” “Been saying this since the 1st I swear!” she wrote. “somethinnnnnnn in the air.”

Over the summer, Runway shared that she had parted ways with her label EMI Records and was pursuing music as an independent artist.

“I no longer want any desperate agendas attached to my music, I want to reel it in and take it all back to love of music,” she wrote. “You can’t go wrong when you art is birthed this way, it’s only greatness that will follow especially when you’ve always been destined for it.”

Runway’s only release in 2023 came in April with “Be the One” featuring Khalid. The previous year she dropped EP Woah, What a Blur! that included the track featured in Aguilera’s set “That Girl,” “Pick Your Poison” with Stormzy, and “FWMM.” She also joined Lizzo as a tour opener in Europe.
