When Scandoval broke, Tom was public enemy number one for Bravo fans. His status as the most-hated man on Bravo has mostly persisted since then, but also caught in the crossfire was Tom’s friend and business partner, Tom Schwartz.
Schwartz’s loyalty to Sandoval was unfortunately misplaced, and everyone went after him for it. Amid BravoCon, the TomTom owners got the chance to reflect on how it all went down.
Tom Schwartz recalls being “publicly shamed”
Following the VPR panel at BravoCon, the pair of Toms got the chance to talk with Us Weekly about everything on their mind. “It’s a weird thing to be publicly shamed,” Schwartz said. “I was guilty by association or however they want to frame it, but it was very bizarre at times. I could appreciate the absurdity of it, but other times it was very sad and kind of terrifying.”
Schwartz also teased that he and Sandoval would soon be able to “go back and look” at all the DMs they received as the scandal was breaking. Meanwhile, Sandoval spoke about the negative reaction he received from the BravoCon audience. When he expressed his nervousness about being at the convention, the crowd booed him.
Tom joked that it “felt great” to be there, but on a more sincere note, he admitted that it had gone as expected. “It gives you a little dose of reality [for] lack of a better term really. Sort of keeps you grounded. I dunno.” If there’s anything that Tom Sandoval needs, it’s more grounding.
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 airs on Bravo in January 2024.
