Bravo condemns 'harmful' harassment toward 'RHOBH' star Garcelle Beauvais' son

Bravo and the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" cast are setting a boundary with fans after cast member Garcelle Beauvais' son received negative comments online.

The reality TV network made a statement speaking out against some of the "harmful" comments sent to Beauvais' son on social media after the TV personality shared a message from Jax on her Instagram story.

Jax, 14, wrote that fans of "RHOBH" had been "spamming me with racist and crude comments" causing him to turn on privacy settings on his Instagram page.

"We are shocked and appalled at the social comments directed at Garcelle's son. We urge our viewers and social follower alike to refrain from targeting our cast and their families with harmful rhetoric," Bravo posted on its official Instagram page.

Comments attacking Beauvais' son stem from on-screen tiffs between the cast members, including a moment in the current season when housewife Erika Jayne Girardi cursed at Jax, telling him to leave the room during his mom's birthday party. Housewives Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley defended Girardi, who later apologized for talking to Beauvais' sons "like they were adults," but the tension remains amongst the women on the show.

Before Jax's statement on his mom's Instagram page, Beauvais tweeted that the comments under her son's social media account are "not OK" and brought her to tears.

"It hurts it’s not OK," she tweeted Tuesday. "It’s just a TV show people scream at your TV throw something at your TV but leave our kids alone."

While relationships on the show remain severed, the other cast members backed Beauvais' plea to stop the online harassment and posted Bravo's Instagram message in solidarity.

"I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone that has been supportive of Jax and me it means the world," Beauvais tweeted Wednesday.

"RHOBH" is currently in its 12th season, with the season finale airing Sept. 7.
