During this week's Dancing with the Stars, viewers got an unexpected tear-jerking performance out of one particular contestant.

'Vanderpump Rules' star Ariana Madix showed off her quickstep skills while dedicating her dance to her late father and her Melbourne upbringing.

Watch Madix and partner pro-dancer Pasha Pashkov dance to "You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes for 'Motown Night' on Dancing with the Stars:

When hearing it was "Motown Night," Madix shared photos of her late father in her Florida hometown, saying she grew up listening to Motown music because of her father.

"My dad passed in 2013 and he never got to see me, not even the on Vanderpump Rules," Madix said. "I think it would be a dream of his to see me performing on a stage of this magnitude."

Madix decided to dedicate her dance to her father, seeing a total score of 34 out of 40. Combined with fan votes, she made it through to next week's show, which is "Disney Week."

In an interview with Extra after the show, she told reporters that she could hardly watch the package because it was very emotional to look back on. However, she said he would've loved her dance.

"He would always call me honey, so he probably would be like 'Oh honey that was great,'" Madix on what her father would think of her dance. "He'd be very proud."

“Vanderpump Rules” personality Ariana Madix is a Melbourne, Florida, native and Flagler College alumni who had the entire reality TV realm in a chokehold this last year.

After becoming the heartbroken victim in a public cheating scandal with ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval, the 38-year-old has graced multiple magazine covers, done various high-profile interviews and rebranded herself post-breakup.

What has Madix said about her hometown of Melbourne?

In an 2014 Florida Today interview with Madix, the reality star shared some of her favorite parts of Melbourne and what reminds her of home.

She said Southern California reminded her of her Florida hometown, adding that it's "the same kind of trees, the same kind of atmosphere in some ways." She elaborated that when she first moved to Los Angeles, she said 'it's like Florida with hills.'

Madix went on to talk about what she does when she returns back to Melbourne.

"My must-sees and must-do when I go home is to go to the barn and ride my horse. Go to the pool. My mom and I always go to Cedars Cafe," Madix recalls. We always have lunch with a friend of hers. Always have to see my grandma and my uncles. I try to really cram as much family time as possible."

Lastly, she delved into her love of all things space and science fiction, especially being from the Space Coast. She grew up watching space shuttle launches from her front yard, so she said she was always fascinated with the idea of going to space.

Why did Ariana Madix join 'Dancing with the Stars?'

Madix told Good Morning America hosts in September that she was excited to do the show. She noted that she feels “like I’m in a new phase” of life.

“I’m ready to just take on whatever I can and do my best,” she said.

In a pre-taped segment before her passionate tango, Madix spoke of the "Vanderpump Rules" scandal involving Sandoval and Leviss.

"My life has been a roller coaster in the last year," Madix said, along to the segment's dramatic music. "My partner of nine years and one of my best girlfriends were having an affair behind my back. And everybody got to watch it all play out and my life blow up on television."

Asked by Pashkov why she was doing "DWTS," Madix said she wanted to stand on her own two feet because "feeling like you were a joke to your partner of nine years is devastating. But I want to show other women none of that stuff has to hold you back."
