Braunwyn Windham-Burke Finding Divorce Harder Than Sobriety

Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, is opening up about the struggles of going through her divorce from estranged husband Sean Burke.
She shared that divorce is hard. The RHOC vet added it was more difficult than ending her relationship with alcohol, which she did back in 2020.
Posting about her struggles
The former Real Housewife shares much of her life on social media, namely Instagram. While her honesty may be refreshing to some, it did not sit well with her ex-husband. He asked why she needed to post about their divorce struggles and advised they should have been kept private.
For her part, Braunwyn said she posted and shared for the same reasons she always does. “I posted for the same reason I post about getting sober,” the mom of seven shared. “I post about the hard things, I post about things other people are going through.”
He said that posting about sobriety was a good thing, but posting about their divorce wasn’t, to which she vehemently stated, “Divorce is harder than getting sober. Just so you know. I’ve been sober, I’ve gotten sober, and I’ve gotten divorced. This is harder.”
Sean’s ex shared earlier that her divorce was “bringing me to my knees” and about all the challenges she’s faced in her separation. She went on to explain that she talks openly about her struggles because she’s not the only one going through divorce issues.
“Sometimes I think we look at other people’s lives and are like, ‘Oh, this is easy, whatever.’ No, no. This is hard. Divorce is hard. Co-parenting is hard. None of it’s easy.” And while she admitted that it may be easy for some people, she is not one of them.
“That’s why I post about it,” she continued in her video. “If you are going through it, you are not alone.”
Light at the end of the tunnel
Braunwyn and Sean got married in 2000 and share seven children. Understandably, disentangling 20 years of your life can be one of the most challenging things anyone can do, especially when children are involved.
But while Braunwyn has been open about her struggles. Additionally, she’s been open about her newfound happiness, too. While one marriage may be over, it looks like another is just about to begin, as the former Bravo star recently accepted a marriage proposal and is now engaged to Jennifer Spinner.
Here’s hoping love’s sweeter the second time around.
