Brantley Gilbert and Wife Amber Expecting Baby No. 3: 'How's This for a Mother's Day?'

The couple already shares daughter Braylen, 4½, and son Barrett, 6½

Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber Cochran Gilbert are expanding their family!

On Monday, May 13 — the day after Mother's Day — the country star, 39, and his longtime love announced that they are expecting their third child in a joint Instagram post.

Alongside photos of the couple — and later, their two kids — holding up an ultrasound of baby No. 3, the “Bottoms Up” singer pointed out the fitting timing of the announcement, writing, “How’s this for a Mother’s Day?”

The country world, including Bailey Zimmerman and Jason Aldean, came together in the comments section to congratulate the couple.

“Dude LETS GOOOO,” Zimmerman said, while Aldean wrote, “Congrats buddy. So happy for yall.”

The “You Make It Easy” singer’s wife, Brittany Kerr Aldean, also offered congratulations, as did Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, who wrote, “Another beautiful baby! Congrats you two!”

Brantley and Amber’s latest addition will join their other two children, daughter Braylen Hendrix, 4½, and son Barrett Hardy-Clay, 6½.

Speaking about Braylen’s birth in 2019, the country singer-songwriter told PEOPLE, “It’s such a blessing for us to welcome Braylen and both momma and baby girl are doing great.”

In 2017, when they welcomed Barrett, the star told PEOPLE he was “speechless.”

“Watching the delivery, I don’t even know what to say,” he said, adding, “Amber and I are just so thankful and blessed to have this beautiful little boy."

As the couple prepares to bring home baby No. 3, they are also approaching their ninth wedding anniversary.

While celebrating eight years together last June, the country star shared a wholesome Instagram post, writing, "It’s hard to believe I get to call this fire ass hot, rockstar mom my wife. We’ve been through, and been blessed with, so much in the last 8 years, and I can only imagine what God has in store for us and our family in the next 8… and after.”

"I love you, pretty girl,” he added. “Happy anniversary!"

In 2022, Gilbert revealed to PEOPLE that parenting is “one of the scariest things on the planet" to him. “You only get one chance to do it, right? You have to do it correctly,” he said at the time. “And I worry about it.”

The star also explained that he has a "bad habit of thinking that I know everything," but that being married and starting a family "showed me that I didn't have as much figured out as I thought."

"Especially when it comes to girls like my wife and daughter, I feel like those relationships are always evolving and changing," he said. "It's pretty tough for a dad sometimes."
