Brandywine sweeps Constantine

The Niles-Brandywine softball team won a pair of games over Constantine on Wednesday.

The Bobcats earned victories of 14-0 and 21-11.

In the opener, Brandywine scored once in the first, second and fourth innings. They would add four in the fifth and seven more in the sixth.

Constantine registered three hits in the game. Olivia Herlein, Aubrae Good and Sienna Salisbury each hit a single.

Brandywine scored six times in the first inning of the second game. They would add runs in four of the final six frames as well. Constantine scored once in the first, three times in the second, twice in the fourth and five times in the seventh.

Herlein and Jocelyn Butler each had three hits in the game, Herlein clubbed two doubles and drove in four total runs. Hallee Schieber, Kaitlyn Ross and Olivia Ransbottom all had two hits and drove in one run, Kirstin Hall collected a pair of hits. Good and Breanna Bristol both recorded a hit.

Bronson beats Homer

The Bronson softball team beat Homer twice on Wednesday, winning 11-4 and 10-3.

"We hit the ball well tonight and the pitchers as well as the defense did their job as well," Bronson coach Becky Gray said. "Homer was out to beat us tonight and the girls stepped up and found a way to get two big wins."

With the victories, Bronson improved to 10-7 on the season and 8-0 in league play.

The first game saw Addison Harris collect a single, two doubles and one RBI for the game, Haylie Wilson hit a single and a double. Kaylee Wilber added two singles to the total with one RBI, Lydia Wells drove in a pair of runs with a base hit.

Brealyn Lasky also drove in one with a base hit, Roni Bir collected a single. Aubree Calloway drove in two runs with a base hit in the game, she also stole three bases.

Harris picked up the win, striking out 10 over seven innings of work. She allowed one earned run.

Bronson won 10-3 in the second game as Ashlynn Harris pitched them to a win. She struck out 16 hitters in seven innings of work and allowed one earned run.

Ashlynn Harris singled and tripled, Addison Harris hit two singles and stole a base. Wilson drove in two runs with a pair of singles, Wells hit a single, double and drove in two runs. Calloway, Wilber and Kailynne Scare each had a run-scoring base hit for the Vikings and Bir added a single in the game as well.

Hartford sweeps WP

The White Pigeon softball team dropped a pair of SouthWest10 games to Hartford on Wednesday.

Hartford won the games, 10-1 and 10-2.

Bailee Freedline hit two singles and scored a run in the first game for White Pigeon. Mable Post, Hanna Culp and Cali Raley each had a single in the game as well.

For the second game, Mackenzie Bright drove in both runs with a base hit. Freedline and Layla Abner scored those runs. Abner had two base hits, Freedline had one. Culp singled twice, Leigha Shudell hit a double and Post added a single in the game.

Otsego sweeps Sturgis

The Sturgis softball team dropped a pair of games to Otsego on Wednesday evening.

In the first one, the Lady Trojans battled tough, but fell 2-1. Sturgis trailed 2-0 entering the seventh inning, but was able to scratch a run across. Haylee Pappas reached base on a single and eventually came around to score the lone run.

The base hit from Pappas was the only one for SHS in the game.

Riley Northrop pitched for the Trojans and struck out one.

Otsego won the second game, 10-0. Sturgis collected two hits in this game, a single each from Northrop and Angela Cary.
