Sheryl Lee Ralph got a festive surprise from a former co-star!

On Thursday, the Abbott Elementary star's son Etienne Maurice (whom she shares with ex-husband Eric Maurice) posted an Instagram Reel featuring him and his mother, 66, unboxing a gift from Brandy, who played her on-screen step-daughter in the sitcom Moesha.

In the clip — soundtracked by the Best. Christmas. Ever! star's song "Somebody's Waiting" from her holiday album Christmas with Brandy, which was released in November — Sheryl's son, 31, sports a purple hoodie while showcasing the items while his mother is clad in a crystal-encrusted, black sweater.

"Santa came early this Christmas! Make sure to listen to @brandy new Christmas album now. #ChristmaswithBrandy," he captioned the video.

At the start of the video, Maurice begins diving through the goodies. "Mommy, mommy, mommy, look what we got," he said to his mother while carrying a vinyl copy of her album over, to which Sheryl replied, while holding the record to her face and smiling: "Baby girl's first Christmas album."

"Wow, and we got a little box. We got a mug. We got things, B.," Maurice said, while inspecting a white mug emblazoned with Brandy's name. "Christmas came early."

He then showed off a set of "really nice glasses" before reading part of a note they received from the R&B performer. "Thank you for all your support. It means the world to me. Wishing you all the best this season, and a very merry Christmas with Brandy," he read aloud.

The pair signed off the video with a sweet message for Brandy. "We love you, B.," Sheryl exclaimed, before her son added: "We love you!"

In an interview with PEOPLE last month, Brandy said her first-ever Christmas album "was something that the fans have been asking for, for a long time. I've been around for such a long time, to not have a Christmas album is kind of absurd."

The 11-track album, released via Motown Records, includes soulful interpretations of classics like "Deck the Halls" and "Jingle Bells." She also recorded two originals: a steamy new single titled "Christmas Party for Two" and a duet with 21-year-old daughter Sy'Rai titled "Christmas Gift."

"I wanted to have a variety for everybody for this album. So of course the first single is about love," said Brandy. "People want to be in love during Christmas too. They don't just want to be joyful and cheerful. They kind of want a little steam here and there."

The "I Wanna Be Down" singer added, "And then I have 'Christmas Gift,' which my daughter is the greatest gift God has ever given me. So it was the perfect song for her to collaborate with me on, and it was just a great experience."
