The social media exchanges between LeAnn Rimes and Brandi Glanville historically have been not so nice.

The singer and the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star have publicly feuded for years, after Rimes infamously had an affair with Glanville’s then husband, Eddie Cibrian, on the set of the 2009 Lifetime movie Northern Lights. Cibrian and Rimes — who left husband Dean Sheremet for Cibrian — continued their relationship and married in 2011, making Rimes the stepmother to Glanville’s two sons, 12-year-old Mason and Jake, 9. The new role has not always gone over well with Glanville.

Over the weekend, as Rimes and Cibrian marked their fifth wedding anniversary on April 22 with a bikini-filled getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Glanville was surprisingly cordial on Twitter.

And Rimes seemed to be nice right back! Of course, she had to be in a good mood already, wearing her favorite look, a bikini, for days.

“That’s the point right?” Glanville replied. “Thanks for taking care of my boys! Have fun.”

Some commenters on the posts speculated that Glanville was actually throwing shade, with her reference to “my boys.” However, the reality star claimed in an interview last week that she has a new attitude toward her ex and Rimes.

“I think we’re realizing that it’s all about the kids. It’s not about us,” she told Bravo's The Daily Dish. “And there’s no point at this point to bicker about silly things because they’re together, happily married. I’m happy and single, but with the kids, so we don’t have to have a rift between the three of us. There’s no point. We have to come together for the kids and we’re really working on that. And I’m happy about it."

The single part comes with an asterisk, since Glanville is casually dating former MTV star Theo Vonn.

As Glanville explained, she has another reason for making nice with Cibrian in that she’s close with his family.

"At the end of the day, his parents are still my in-laws. I love them madly. They will always be my in-laws,” she said. “My parents were just here and wanted to see them and it was kind of awkward because I’m like, ‘I don’t know how I want to approach that because they used to be best friends.’ But the kids are really happy because they realize that my parents are good friends with [Eddie’s parents]. It’s all about the kids and we’re all figuring it out as we go. But I think we’re coming to a better place.”

Let’s hope they stay there.
