Brandee Evans Joins Sheryl Lee Ralph In New Comedy, ‘The Fabulous Four’

What happens when you put Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Megan Mullally in a film together? Apparently, it gets titled The Fabulous Four.

According to production company, Bleecker Street, the new comedy “follows three lifelong friends who travel to Key West, Florida, to be bridesmaids in a surprise wedding of their college girlfriend Marilyn (Midler). Once there, sisterhoods are rekindled, the past rises up again in all its glory, and there are enough sparks, drinks and romance to change all their lives in ways they never expected.”

It was announced in October 2023 that Ralph joined the cast, replacing Sissy Spacek who dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. P-Valley‘s Brandee Evans was added to the cast earlier this month and will play the Abbott Elementary star’s daughter.

After Evans made the announcement on Instagram, Ralph commented, “Look at us!!!!” A first look photo from the film of Midler in a wedding dress and Ralph glammed up can be seen above.

Separately, Evans will also be reprising her role as Mercedes on P-Valley, which recently went into production for its highly-anticipated third season. Of her role, the beloved actress teased to VIBE, “Mercedes done had her last dance [but] I’m hoping that you see more of Mercedes being a mother, and seeing more of what she does outside the club.”

Meanwhile, Ralph will return as Barbara Howard for season four of Abbott. The award-winning sitcom was renewed for a new season back in February.

The Fabulous Four premieres in theaters on July 26.
