Bradley Cooper on the Backlash Over His DNC Attendance: ‘I Was Not Expecting That’

Bradley Cooper has received a lot of criticism recently for attending the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Many conservatives are not happy that the actor, who portrayed Navy SEAL Chris Kyle in the Academy Award-nominated film American Sniper, aligns ideologically with the Democratic Party. Many on Twitter are calling for a boycott of Cooper’s films.

Cooper, who is from Philadelphia and still spends a lot of his time there, took his mother to the convention with him to hear the president speak. He said he was not expecting all the backlash.

Cooper being at the DNC should not surprise those who have followed him throughout his career. He attended a state dinner at the White House recently and donated to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign.

Also, while filming “The Hangover Part II” in Bangkok, Cooper spent some time with ex-president Bill Clinton, who was there to deliver a speech.
