Although they haven't been married for more than a decade now, exes Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are likely to bump into each other at this years Golden Globes, where they're both nominated.

According to a source in HolllywoodLife, that potential run-in won't necessarily be as awkward as we might imagine. "Brad looks forward to seeing all of his friends at these industry events, that’s one of the highlights for him and Jennifer is now one of those people,” the source said.

Of course, it took time for the two of them to get to a place where they could be this friendly. "There was a time when it would have been awkward, but not anymore," the source says. Apparently, that’s because the two of them "have so many mutual friends." That proved to be true after Pitt made a surprise appearance at Aniston's 50th birthday party. Given the fact that they run in the same circles, it's easy to see how they may have become friends again.

For their mutual friends, "it really is a plus for Brad that he and Jennifer are friends again," the source claims. "[Brad] will enjoy it when he sees her at the Golden Globes."

This year, Pitt is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for his work in "Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood." The actor plays Cliff Booth, a washed-up stuntman who becomes inadvertently involved in the Manson murders as they unfold in the Hollywood hills.

Aniston is also nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Drama for her work on "The Morning Show." On the show, Aniston plays Alex Levy, a news anchor. It's Aniston's first major return to television since "Friends."

For the first time in quite a while, both Pitt and Aniston appear to be single. While speaking to The New York Times Magazine, Pitt made it clear that none of the relationship rumors circling around him are true.

In 2017, Aniston split from her second husband, actor Justin Theroux, but as is the case with Pitt, the two of them remain friendly. For Aniston and Pitt, they've come quite a distance since the immediate aftermath of their split in 2005.

It's understandable that Aniston was a bit wounded by everything that happened. Pitt ended their marriage after allegedly having an affair with Angelina Jolie, his co-star in "Mr. And Mrs. Smith." Thankfully, it seems Pitt's done some work to mend fences.
