Brad Pitt Gives Epic Golden Globes Award Aceeptance Speech

Brad Pitt, the legend himself, looks to had quite the enjoyable night at the Golden Globes. As the camera panned to him throughout the night, he had nothing but a smile on his face.

Perhaps it was due to the success that the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood had or maybe it related to Jennifer Aniston. Either way, Pitt was in a great mood, and that was further enunciated in his award acceptance speech which he won for Best Supporting Actor.

His speech was epic, to say the least. He first reached out to some of the well-known celebrities in the audience and shared how they were role models for him as he was just beginning acting. He also gave a long shout out to Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as, make a little joke about dating rumors.

Pitt Thanks the Legends That He Looked Up To, Hanks, Pacino, and Pesci

The category for Best Supporting Actor was one that had quite the company. The group of nominees including Tom Hanks for his role in Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Anthony Hopkins in Two Popes, and Al Pacino and Joe Pesci for their roles in The Irishman.

When Pitt got up to the podium, he made sure to speak directly to the other nominees, saying that they were legends who he looked up to when he first started acting. He was eternally grateful for the influence that each of those actors had on his career and said he was honored to be mentioned alongside their names.

A Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio Bromance

As for Leonardo Dicaprio, who Pitt referred to lovingly as LDC, it could have possibly been the best aspect of the whole night at the Golden Globes. Pitt gushed over the support and friendship that he's had from DiCaprio over the years.

"He’s an all star, he’s a gent, and I wouldn’t be here without you, man," Pitt said. And Pitt couldn't help himself from making a Titanic reference when speaking about the loving friendship he has with DiCaprio. "I thank you. Still, I would’ve shared the raft." The response from the crowd was an emphatic roar as DiCaprio had a large smile from Pitt's comments.

Pitt Cracks Joke at Media's Fascination with His Dating Life

Pitt also enjoyed poking fun at the incessant attention his dating life receives from the media, making the comment, "I wanted to bring my mom, but I couldn’t because, any woman I stand next to, they say I’m dating… and it would just be awkward."

The crowd roared in laughter and then the camera panned to his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, who has been the center of potential rekindling rumors with Pitt over the last several months. The two were seated near each other during the ceremony, but nothing really indicated anything more than them just being friends, at least during the show.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Takes Home the Hardware

Pitt's acceptance speech was certainly one for the ages, and he may have some others as the Academy Awards is set to premiere next month.

The film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," which he won the award for Best Supporting Actor, cleaned up the Golden Globes, also bringing in the awards for Best Screenplay in a Motion Picture (Quentin Tarintino), the overall Best Motion Picture in the Musical or Comedy category, and Best Director (Quentin Tarintino). DiCaprio was also nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, but did not win.
