A-list actor Brad Pitt has been making waves in Daytona Beach but he's not surfing.

The Academy Award winner is in Volusia County to film an unnamed movie that revolves around the world of Formula 1 racing, according to media reports.

Racing news website racer.com reported that the production has been filming during IMSA’s Roar Before The 24 test runs from Jan. 19 through 21, and will be the following week as the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship launches its season with the Jan. 25 through 28 Rolex 24 At Daytona.

With Pitt shining light on Daytona Beach in his new film, many might be wondering how many times the Sunshine State has been featured in top flicks over years. Luckily, travel platform Omio have decided to answer that burning question.

Omio experts looked at more than 300 U.S. cities, comparing their popularity among filmmakers to see which cities are the top film locations in the country. Not only did they track down the filming hot spots across America but they found the top filming locations within Florida.
