Brad Pitt is set to star in an untitled film about Formula 1 racing.

Brad Pitt is doing some field research for his latest movie!

The actor, 59, who is set to star in an upcoming Formula 1 (F1) film, was spotted at a practice session for the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Friday night.

The Moneyball star was photographed in the pit lane ahead of the racing event — the latest round of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Formula One World Championship, which was won by Dutch driver Max Verstappen on Saturday.

In a TikTok video shared by ESPN, the star was spotted walking around at the practice session the day before the race, and in another clip shared on the app, he stopped to smile and wave at a fan.

Other stars who were spotted around the circuit — which “winds its way past iconic locations including Caesars Palace, the Bellagio and the Venetian,” per the official F1 website — included Rod Stewart, Gordon Ramsay and PEOPLE's 2023 Sexiest Man Alive himself, Patrick Dempsey.

Pitt’s appearance at the event is especially noteworthy given his starring role as a veteran F1 driver in his upcoming movie centered on the sport.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is one of the producers of the untitled Apple Studios project, which is being made in collaboration with F1, per BBC News.

In July, the actor was spotted filming with his costar, Damson Idris, at an earlier round of the FIA championship, the British Grand Prix, in full racing garb.

Both Idris, 32, and the Fight Club star wore a white and black racing suit with the logo for their fictional team APXGP at the motor racing event, an Instagram post by F1 shows.

“Welcome to the grid, APXGP 👀,” F1 cryptically captioned the photos of the fictional racing duo walking side-by-side at the Silverstone race track.

In the snapshots, the pair can be seen standing alongside drivers including current F1 world champion Max Verstappen and Ferrari's Carlos Sainz Jr.

Not only did Pitt walk around the circuit, but he also took the wheel in front of 140,000 fans at the racing event. After the ride, the actor admitted to Sky Sports that he was feeling a “little giddy.”

“Listen, it’s just all been great,” he told the outlet at the time. “I mean, the vibe’s amazing, just to get to be a part of it in this way and get to tell our story, everyone has been really cool with us. All the teams have opened the doors for us.”

Of the movie, the details of which have been kept largely under wraps, he told the outlet, “It’s going to be really good.”

The Bullet Train actor also shared a few more details about the racing flick. “I would be a guy who raced in the ‘90s,” he said of his own character. “He has a horrible crash and kind of craps out and disappears and then is racing in other disciplines.”

“Then his friend, played by Javier Bardem, is the team owner,” Pitt continued. “They’re the last place team, they’re 21, 22 on the grid. They’ve never scored a point and they have a young phenom played by Damson Idris and he brings me in as kind of a Hail Mary and hijinks ensue.”

“Tell you what’s amazing about it, you’ll see the cameras come out all over the car, the shots you’ve never seen speed, you’ve never seen G forces like this,” he said, adding that “it’s really, really exciting.”

Pitt also revealed to Sky Sports that prior to his turn in the racecar, he had never driven one on a track before.

“I’ve spent the last 20 years on bikes on tracks, so that helped a lot,” he revealed, adding that it was “really humbling” to have some of the drivers help him out.

According to Sports Illustrated, both Pitt and Idris will drive actual cars on tracks for the film’s racing sequences. The movie is set for a 2025 release.
