Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are Officially Single Again as They Continue to Finalize Divorce
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are single again, more than two and a half years after she filed for divorce.
The former couple's marriage is officially over, a judge ruled on Friday, ET confirms, after Pitt and Jolie requested a bifurcated judgment, which would allow their single status to be restored while they finalize their divorce. ET has reached out to Pitt and Jolie's reps for comment.
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, after two years of marriage and over a decade together. A tense custody battle over their six kids -- 17-year-old Maddox, 15-year-old Pax, 14-year-old Zahara, 12-year-old Shiloh and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne -- ensued, but in November 2018 ET learned that the pair had worked out a custody agreement.
"A custody arrangement was agreed to weeks ago, and has been signed by both parties and the judge," Jolie’s attorney, Samantha Bley DeJean, told ET in a statement at the time. "The agreement, which is based on the recommendations of the child custody evaluator, eliminates the need for a trial. The filing and details of the agreement are confidential to protect the best interests of the children.”
A source close to the matter told ET that Jolie was "pleased to be entering the next stage and relieved at the progress for the health of their family."
Jolie recently stepped out with all six of her and Pitt's children at a special screening of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind at the Crosby Hotel in New York City in February. Watch below.
