Melanie Martinez has moved on from The Voice to American Horror Story. And her new song and video are so good, it's scary.
The two-toned-haired Goth girl wonder, one of the most unique contestants to ever appear on The Voice, recently had her spooky tune "Carousel" featured in the extended trailer for American Horror Story: Freak Show. While her new video for the song, out just in time for Halloween, isn't quite as twisted as anything on AHS, it's still totally creepy-cool, depicting a doomed romance that literally spins out of control at dark, deserted Long Island carnival.
(STEFON VOICE) This video has everything: zombie carnies, freaky funhouse mirrors, scary dolls, levitation, light bondage, purple eyebrows, pink vomit… and Melanie's haunting voice, of course, accompanied by the eerie tinkling of music boxes and the oom-pah-pah of old-school organ grinders. "Carousel" is one wild ride.
Melanie's full-length debut, Cry Baby, is slated for an early 2015 release on Atlantic Records. In the meantime, she'll be showcasing her frightening talent on her Dollhouse tour, which resumes on Nov. 9.
