The Boys: What to know about the series before the fourth season premieres

Based on the comic series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys premiered in July 2019. The series stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Antony Starr as Homelander, Erin Moriarty as Annie January/Starlight, Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve, Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, Laz Alonso as M.M., Chace Crawford as the Deep, Tomer Capone as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, and Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir.

“In Season Four, the world is on the brink,” the official synopsis reads for the forthcoming season. “Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”

The first three episodes of The Boys Season 4 will be released on Amazon Prime Video on June 13, 2024. New episodes will continue to be released weekly, with the season featuring eight episodes in total.

A release date for The Boys Season 5 has not yet been announced.
