A lot has gone down on The Boys. It started with a runaway speedster running straight through a woman at high speed, obliterating her body on the spot, and it has since evolved to include things like superhero orgies, a horrifically botched dolphin rescue, an eerie breast milk fascination, and one supe with a super-powered... love sausage.

"I feel like every season we reset what the ceiling is, and somehow we push through it," series star Jack Quaid told EW for our The Boys season 3 cover shoot. "I don't know how we can keep raising the bar for messed-up things, but [showrunner] Eric [Kripke] keeps finding a way."

But which one is the craziest so far? Quaid and his fellow cast mates featured on EW's digital cover — Karl Urban, Antony Starr, and Jensen Ackles — help us answer that question before season 3 comes along and blows the past stunts out of the water.

Speaking of water, all four can agree the whale-skewering scene from season 2, episode 3 ranks high up there: Butcher (Urban) drives a speedboat carrying Hughie (Quaid), Frenchie (Tomer Capone), and MM (Laz Alonso) straight through a whale The Deep (Chace Crawford) had summoned to attack them.

"The fact that we got to go through a whale at all is just insane, and I've never seen it before," Quaid says. "I don't think I'll ever see it again."

Urban shares a never-before-seen photo with EW that he captured on his phone from the season 2 production, revealing just how seasick Quaid got during the filming of the whale sequence.

"We had Jack Quaid at the front of the speedboat, and the kid has never been in a speedboat before," Urban recalls. "We're shooting it on a lake and there are waves and I'm gunning it and we're going along and we're getting wet. Jack Quaid is pale. And he has a safe word. It's 'Karl.'"

"'Karl, Karl, Karl.' Three times," Quaid clarifies.

Apparently Quaid was calling his safe phrase, but Urban couldn't hear him over the thrumming of the helicopter carrying the camera operator overhead. "At the end of our run, Quaid-o was white as a sheet," Urban continues. "I've got a photo, which I'll provide you guys... You want the photo, don't you?"

Well, here is that photo.
