Feb. 7—Acress Laura Linney — a star in the Netflix series "Ozark," the classic Christmas romantic comedy "Love Actually" and the psychological comedy from the 90's, "The Truman Show" — is coming to the Boulder International Film Festival in March to receive the festival's Vanguard Award.

Linney will attend the local premiere of her new film, "Wildcat" on March 2 and will have a post-screening conversation with BIFF interviewer Ron Bostwick. It's all happening at the Boulder Theater, at 2032 14th St. in Boulder.

Film star Ethan Hawke directed "Wildcat." Linney stars as Regina, the mother of Southern Gothic writer Flannery O'Connor. The film delves into O'Connor's struggle to publish a novel amidst a lupus diagnosis at the age of 24, leading her to explore the depths of her writing and faith.

Linney, 60, has spent three decades as an actress, performing on both the stage and the screen. She played Wendy Byrde in "Ozark," which earned her several award nominations, including Emmy and Screen Actors Guild awards; as Meryl Burbank in "The Truman Show," and as Abigail Adams in the HBO series "John Adams." She has won a SAG award, two Golden Globes and four Emmys.

Tickets for the screening and award presentation and post-show interview are priced at $35 and available at biff2024.eventive.org/schedule. There is no charge for BIFF passholders.
