Bottega Veneta Takes Over the Great Wall of China

Always one to do things a little differently, Bottega Veneta has taken over the Great Wall of China for the 2022 Lunar New Year. The Italian label, which is now under the helm of creative director Matthieu Blazy, has created a digital installation that covers one of the world’s seven wonders in its classic Bottega green and tangerine, a symbol for luck in Mandarin. Marking the Great Wall are festive wishes of “Happy New Year” in Chinese.

To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, Bottega Veneta has also pledged a donation that will support the Shanhai Pass’ renovation and maintenance, ensuring the ancient construction will remain intact for future generations to enjoy. The Shanhai Pass is also known as the “First Pass under Heaven.”

Bottega Veneta joins the A-list roster of luxury brands who are publicly celebrating the Lunar New Year. Gucci, along with Nike and Balenciaga have all released Tiger-themed collections to ring in the upcoming holiday.

The installation will go live later this month. Take a look at the gallery above for a sneak peek.
