His 2022 Ram truck crossed the double-yellow center line into the oncoming northbound lane and then swung back into the southbound lane. Then his truck traveled off the right side the road and struck a small embankment. His vehicle went airborne, touched down on the embankment again, then went airborne a second time. At that point, the truck went over a hillside and hit a tree head-on, according to state police.

When the truck landed it fell to the ground and rolled onto its roof, police said.

Druist, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, according to an accident incident report.

He was the sole occupant, police said.
