My Boss Ep 16 Recap & Spoilers: Chen Xingxu Loses His Temper with Zhang Ruonan

Popular ongoing C-drama My Boss has released its 16th episode. The episode came out on January 11, 2024. Adapted from the popular web-novel “What Comes Around Goes Around” by Ye Fei Ran, the drama follows the genre of office romance. The Chen Xingxu and Zhang Ruonan starrer is directed by Chen Ming Zhang and Chen Shi Yi. My Boss will release a total of 36 episodes. The drama is a Youku network original.

The storyline of My Boss revolves around Cheng Yao (Zhang Ruonan) and her office superior Qian Heng (Chen Xingxu). Cheng Yao is a girl with big hopes and dreams. She dreams of becoming a successful lawyer one day. Cheng gets recruited by a big law-firm. She decides to move closer to office so, she doesn’t have to commute to work everyday. There she meets her rude room-mate, who later turns out to be her boss at work. She faces many hurdles at work and her new boss doesn’t make the situation any easier.

Qian initially comes off as rude and doesn’t care about anything other than his career. Cheng feels as if he is out to get her. But as the drama progresses, we can see that Qian has softened a lot. He cares for Cheng and even offers her professional guidance when needed. When Cheng gets drunk, Qian safely escorts her home; when she hurts her wrist, he cares for her. On the other hand, Cheng also notices his soft side and starts to understand and respect him. The two form a mentor-trainee bond.

My Boss Ep 16: Chen Xingxu gets angry at Zhang Ruonan

In the previous episode, we saw that Cheng and Qian flew out to a different province for work. They meet with the client, Mr.Tang. Right from the beginning, Qian sensed something was wrong with Tang. Cheng faces a difficult situation when the client harasses her. But Cheng, fortunately, was able to record the whole incident. When Qian hears about this and sees the recording, he decides to teach him a lesson himself.

Afterwards, they come back to their hotel. Qian lashes out at Cheng. But then he feels terrible for his actions. The following day, he calls her to the lobby and treats her to a delicious breakfast. The two later go to an amusement park. There, they go on rides and enjoy many activities together. They are happy to spend time together. It is evident that because of Cheng, Qian has come out of his shell. And their bond is getting stronger.

After returning to their hotel, Cheng prepares a hot beverage for Qian as a form of gratitude. While finishing their work. Cheng falls asleep at her desk. Qian keeps looking at her lovingly. The next day, they come back. After coming back to the office, the two parted ways. Is their work relationship turning into something more?
