This time, it's personal.

When Bosch: Legacy returns for its second season later this month, the Amazon Freevee drama will follow ex-LAPD detective Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) as he frantically tries to solve his own daughter's kidnapping — and EW has an exclusive sneak peek.

Picking up where the season 1 finale left off, season 2 finds rookie cop Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz) abducted by a masked assailant, and her father desperate for clues. In the clip above, Harry gets a lead from high-powered attorney Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers), one of the last people to see Maddie before she was taken.

"There was someone in the courtyard when I went in, a man, I saw him when I was at her front door," Chandler recalls. "I just assumed it was another tenant and they were out for a smoke, I didn't really pay any attention to him."

It may not seem like much, and Harry may no longer be on the force, but those few details are enough to get his wheels turning and have him reach out to his old partner J. Edgar (Jamie Hector) to bring in a police sketch artist. "I'll set it up," Jerry assures him.

Speaking to EW recently for our Fall TV Preview, Bosch: Legacy executive producer Henrik Bastin teased that the first two episodes of season 2 will focus on Maddie's disappearance and function "almost like a movie," while also setting up the rest of the season (which is based on Michael Connelly's 2015 novel The Crossing).

"Any way [Maddie's kidnapping] gets resolved is going to have big implications on [Harry] as a person, as a father and as a detective, as a former cop and everything," Bastin said. "Having his daughter gone in this dramatic fashion, his instinct is to pat himself on his pockets and look for his bags because he's going to go out and, you know, kick down doors and do anything. But he's not a cop anymore."

Bosch: Legacy premieres Oct. 20 on Freevee. Watch an exclusive clip above.
