Boots Riley Announces New TV Series I’m a Virgo Starring Jharrel Jerome

Following his 2018 film Sorry to Bother You, Boots Riley has shared details of his next project. It’s a TV series called I’m a Virgo, starring Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight, When They See Us) as a “13-ft tall Black man who lives in Oakland.” “It’ll be dark, absurd, hilarious, and important,” Riley writes. The show is being created with Michael Ellenberg’s production company Media Res. Further details—including a release date and network—have not yet been announced.

Earlier this month, Boots Riley and Noname sat down for a discussion for the Haymarket Books event “This Is an Uprising!.”
