TMZ is reporting that the local district attorney has charged Boosie with one count of possessing less than an ounce of marijuana and another count for possession of a controlled substance.
Boosie had been arrested on April 8 during a traffic stop in Newnan, Georgia, which took place after his car allegedly swerved lanes and almost hit another vehicle. Investigators at the scene stated that they found pot, a handgun, and more than $20,000 cash in his car.
If there's any sort of silver lining for Boosie here, it's that prosecutors will not be charging him for gun possession for unknown reasons.
Additionally, a passenger identified as the rapper's bodyguard is facing the same pair of drug charges:

If convicted both men could be incarcerated for more than a year, with the exact sentence being dependent upon just how much weed was in their car.
In 2009, Boosie was handed a two-year sentence when Louisiana sheriff's deputies also found pot and a gun in his car. That sentence was doubled to four years after a judge found that he had violated his probation while awaiting sentencing.
In 2010, he was indicted on federal charges for first-degree murder while also being charged for possession and intent to distribute narcotics, as well as two counts of "conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution." He was found not guilty of murder, but was sentenced to eight years after pleading guilty to the drug charges. He was granted an early release in March 2014 and remained on parole up until 2018.
