Boosie Badazz and Webbie are joining forces once again, as the pair are set to record a collaborative project for the first time in over a decade.

On Sunday (Nov. 26), Boosie took to social media to make the announcement, urging promotors to book him and Webbie in light of their reunion. “BADAZZ N SAVAGE ALBUM OTW WE BOUT TO COOK UP THE ALBUM,” the 41-year-old wrote, adding “up” and “fire” emojis.

“BOOK BOOSIE N WEBBIE YOU GO WIN.” The post was accompanied by a photo of the two Louisiana natives posing alongside one another and garnered excited reactions from fans of the tandem, who voiced their anticipation of the forthcoming project.

Boosie and Webbie’s history dates back to the early ’00s. Webbie made his debut appearance on Boosie’s second studio album For My Thugz on the track “I Gotta Get It,” sparking a collaborative relationship that resulted in joint albums such as Ghetto Stories and Gangsta Musik.

The Trill Entertainment artists’ success led to the label inking a distribution deal at Asylum Records, with Webbie releasing his hit single “Independent” featuring Boosie and Lil Phat in 2007. However, the pair’s relationship became strained in recent years, with Boosie publicly lashing out at Webbie in 2020, citing his failure to visit him while he was in prison and for what he perceived as half-hearted performances by the rapper during live shows.

Webbie’s manager would respond to Boosie’s accusations in an interview, during which he explained Webbie’s reasoning for not visiting Boosie during his incarceration. “Some people felt some way about Webbie didn’t go to the jail house, but who wants to go to the jail house?” the manager asked while speaking with The Shade Room. “Who wanna go there? That don’t make you fake cuz you didn’t go to the jail house.”

He also touched on the personal tragedies experienced during Boosie’s prison term, including the deaths of members from he and Webbie’s inner-circle. “Boosie went to jail and they lost Bleek. They lost Phat. Who wanna see that? Lost Pimp C? Who wanna see that? He was reaching out as a brother. Like, where the fuck all these ni**a was?”

The manager insisted that Boosie and Webbie will always be bonded through their connection to Trill Entertainment and that the discord between the two was merely a byproduct of differing outlooks. “Webbie don’t really give a f**k,” he said. “Ni**as get in their feelings and take sh*t out of proportion. Boosie and Webbie, they gon’ always be. It’s like peanut butter and jelly. Boosie went to jail, and Webbie was out here workin’. Webbie’s loyalty will always be Trill Entertainment.”

In 2016, Webbie appeared on Boosie Badazz’s Thug Talk album on the track “Regret It.”
