The Book of Clarence streaming release date is highly anticipated, and viewers are wondering when they can start streaming the film. Written, directed, and co-produced by Jeymes Samuel, The Book of Clarance is a Biblical comedy-drama film that received mostly positive reviews from critics and has a 67% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

TriStar Pictures, a member of the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, is the distributor of The Book Clarence. The film premiered at the 67th London Film Festival on October 11, 2023, before releasing in theaters on January 12, 2024. In 2021, Sony signed a multi-year, exclusive first-look licensing deal in the US with Netflix. This allows the streaming giant first-look access to all Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group’s films that are directly to be released on streaming services or become available for streaming after a theatrical/digital/home media release. Previous TriStar films were made available on Netflix within a few months of their world premieres. If the same pattern is followed, The Book of Clarence can make its streaming debut in early-to-mid 2024.
Set in Jerusalem, in 33 A.D., The Book of Clarence revolves around the eponymous Clarence, a man struggling with mounting debts. After learning about Jesus Christ, Clarence comes up with the plan of pretending to be the Messiah so he can accumulate fame and fortune.
The cast includes LaKeith Stanfield as Clarence/Thomas, Omar Sy as Barabbas, Anna Diop as Varinia, RJ Cyler as Elijah, David Oyelowo as John the Baptist, Micheal Ward as Judas Iscariot, Alfre Woodard as Virgin Mary, Brian Bovell as Joseph, Teyana Taylor as Mary Magdalene, Caleb McLaughlin as Dirty Zeke, and more.
Is The Book of Clarence coming out on Netflix?
The Book of Clarence could be available to watch via streaming on Netflix.
As mentioned above, Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group has a multi-year, exclusive first-look licensing deal in the US with Netflix, and the film will most likely make its streaming debut on this platform. After Netflix, the film will probably be available on Hulu and Disney Plus.
Current Netflix subscribers could be able to watch the film when it airs. Netflix offers three plans or options to its prospective subscribers. The Standard Plan with Ads costs $6.99 a month, the Standard Plan (Ad-free) costs $15.49 a month, and the Premium Plan (Ad-free) costs $22.99 a month.
