Boogie Nights: See Photos of Liza Minnelli Partying at Studio 54

In the late ’70s, there was no place more decadent and groovy than the legendary Studio 54, in New York City, and few people were in the middle of it all more than Liza Minnelli. The singer and actress — already an Oscar winner for 1973’s Cabaret — spent the glittery nights at the disco club dancing with Cher, palling around with co-owner Steve Rubell, and rubbing elbows with pop icon Andy Warhol. The original club shuttered its doors in 1980, but there’s no doubt that if it were still open today, Minnelli would choose it as the place to celebrate her 70th birthday on March 12. Take a look back at some pics of Liza and her famous pals who frequented the venue.
