American Horrorplex

WHAT: Walk through the rusted and ramshackle gates to enter a maze of maniacs, haunted halls, and try to escape with your mind and soul intact.

WHERE: 2012 Northwestern Parkway

WHEN: 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays now through Nov. 4.

COST: General admission: $25; VIP is $45 and includes access to a shorter line and a $5 credit towards side attractions, merchandise and food; front of the line, $65, includes front-of-the-line access to the haunt and a $5 credit towards side attractions, merchandise and food.

Baxter Avenue Morgue

WHAT: The Baxter Avenue Morgue is celebrating more than 20 years of fear. It is made up of low ceilings, tight corridors, and long hallways. It's dark and many lighting effects are used, including strobe lights. You can't touch the actors but there is a chance they might touch you.

WHERE: 451 Baxter Ave.

WHEN: 8-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 22, 23, 29, 30; 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 6-28; Sundays, Oct. 1-29 and Tuesday, Oct. 31.

COST: General admission is $20, speed pass $40 (customers gain entrance to the morgue directly after purchasing ticket); group discounts available must be made in advance from the office only.

WHAT: The Halloween scavenger hunt-style game that is played in your car is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Solve clues and puzzles to solve the murder mystery and find your way to two haunted houses. There is a Kentucky and Indiana run, each with two haunted houses. Identities of the haunts are shielded. To play the game, go to DangerRun.com and register. Take the Self-Service Clue Portal to start your experience from your driveway or the full-service location to get you started.

WHAT: This Halloween adventure includes a two-story haunted barn, Forbidden Woods, Hayride to Hell and a six-acre corn maze.

WHEN: dusk 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays now through Oct. 28

COST: $40 for all events; $30 for the main event (Field of Screams, haunted woods); $15 hayride; $20 fast pass.

WHAT: Be afraid! Louisville's longest-standing Halloween attraction is an extreme, interactive, and in-your-face touch haunt.

WHERE: 3000 S. Fourth St.

WHEN: 9 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 22-23, 29 and 30; 7 p.m. to midnight, Fridays and Saturdays in Oct.; 8-10 p.m. Sundays in Oct.; 7-9 p.m. Halloween, Oct. 31.

COST: $25 Fridays and Saturdays in Sept., Sundays in Oct. and Halloween; $30 Fridays in October and Saturday, Oct. 7; $35 Saturdays Oct. 14, 21, and 28. WHAT: Scaring visitors since 1985, the Culbertson Mansion’s annual haunted house is full of thrills and chills taking place in the mansion’s Carriage House. After the mansion was auctioned off, the Carriage House fell into disuse, but dark legends abound concerning fires, spiritual activity and even demonic possession.

29th Annual Pepper Upper Club Haunted Woods

WHAT: In the woods, be very afraid.
