On Oct. 30, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said in a statement posted to Facebook that Serzynski “was last heard from around 10am when he was hunting on Fourth Lake, from his duck blind.”

In an obituary, it was revealed that in September, Serzynski celebrated 30 years of marriage with his wife Kimberley (née Nelson). “They had endless adventures, mishaps and cherished times,” the article read.

He’s also survived by his son, Patrick, who was described as Serzynski’s “greatest joy.”

“Pat's greatest joy was his son Patrick and being a dad, from teaching him how to fish and hunt, being his floor hockey coach, working alongside each other on cars, and too many more precious moments to list,” the obituary added.

The family went on to thank friends, family and neighbors for their love and support, as well as the Fourth Lake Hunt Club and the rescue teams.
